Scholars who have devoted their academic lives t o the study of Asia can play impor tant roles in fur ther ing the vision of universality, partly as researchers whose work can contribute t o cross-cultural understanding, but more specifically as teachers of future generations and sponsors and facilitators of student exchanges.
